Running Kids Kitchen from Booking to Eating!

18th July 10am – 1pm
Hornbeam Centre E17

Kids Kitchen, a parent-led volunteer group has been running carer and child cookery sessions since 2011.  Now we are sharing what we’ve learnt through an interactive training session; to enable others to run their own Kids Kitchen workshop in their local community.

Kids Kitchen sessions are young children and their carers cooking delicious healthy meals together.  We believe that children who have contact with good food from an early age will grow up with the understanding of food necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle. It’s a great learning experience for parents too, and all enjoy the quality time together.

  • Finding and utilising a venue
  • Marketing; who to advertise to and suggested networks
  • Booking
  • Planning what to cook and how to fit it in
  • Turning any meal into a successful session
  • Organising your setting
  • Breaking Even
  • Tips for keeping everyone – adults and children – engaged

All are welcome: play workers – parents – grandparents – community volunteers!

At the end of the session you will get a Kids Kitchen Pack including marketing materials, template spreadsheets and session plans.

This pilot session is free as we have been funded by the Lea Bridge Ward Community Fund.
